New: Sensors in sand-cement, real-time insight without causing damage

Testing, Measurement, and Calibration

After an intensive process of testing, measuring, and calibrating, this measurement solution is ready for practical use. The sensors are specifically designed for sand-cement mixtures and provide continuously reliable data on the moisture content (%) during the drying process. This provides immediate insight into quality, scheduling, and progress—based on facts rather than assumptions.

Continuous insight into the drying process

In construction and renovation projects, the drying of sand-cement mixtures plays a crucial role in the planning and quality of the final result. Traditionally, moisture content is often measured manually or through destructive testing, which is time-consuming and does not always provide a complete picture. Sensors embedded in sand-cement mixtures fundamentally improve this process: they provide continuous, accurate measurements without damaging the material.

Easy installation, non-destructive measurement

The sensors are simply inserted into the sand-cement mixture, either during application or at a later time. They measure the mass moisture content (%) to a depth of approximately 7 cm within the layer, providing a representative picture of the actual moisture content in the material. The measurement is completely non-destructive, so the sand-cement mixture remains intact and repeated measurements are possible without additional work or repairs.

Real-time monitoring and automatic alerts

Through an online dashboard, customers can remotely monitor moisture levels in real time. The system automatically alerts users when preset thresholds are reached or when the drying process deviates from expectations. This eliminates the need to guess drying times and instead allows for decision-making based on real-time data.

Shorter turnaround times and less risk

Data-driven insights have been shown to shorten project lead times. Wait times are minimized, unnecessary delays are eliminated, and schedules become more reliable. At the same time, the risk of completing work too early—which can lead to damage, adhesion problems, or a loss of quality—is significantly reduced.

Sustainable, reusable, and efficient

The sensors are designed for long-term use and will last for years. Once a project is complete, they can be easily removed and reused in a subsequent project. No destructive drilling or core sampling is required, which reduces labor, repair costs, and disruption to the construction process. The result is a more efficient process with greater control over quality, progress, and costs.
